Language Policy

As proud South Africans we acknowledge the diversity of our beautiful country with its eleven official languages. We want to celebrate the things that make us unique, such as the fact that we call a traffic light a “robot”, don’t really know what time now-now is, and pronounce the first 0 of a telephone number as “oh”, while all the other 0’s in the number is pronounced “zero”. Where else in the world can you call a piece of wood with Scripture engraved on it “a Bidcoin” and people understand exactly what you are talking about? 

We hope to play our part in ensuring that South Africans and those who decide to call this country their home have the means to explore the Gospel in a language that they are comfortable with. Towards this end we have at the outset made it our mission to launch Bidcoins in Afrikaans and English, while we aim to release the isiXhosa version of Bidcoins in early 2021. 

In addition, we have created a bilingual site, which will enable our  valued customers to place their orders in Afrikaans or English. The language can be changed by clicking on the flag at the bottom of your screen. The Afrikaans translation of the website will be completed in increments, and therefore those who decide to place their orders in Afrikaans may at some point in time receive notifications from us in both Afrikaans and English. We appreciate your patience as we work towards finalising the translation. From a customer service point of you we are able to service you in Afrikaans or English.
